TOUR SUMMARY
Cycling has to be the best way to see the temples complexes of Angkor, nothing can compare to cycling through a thousand years of Khmer history. Our Cambodian temple guide will ensure that full explanations are given on all that you will see. A remarkable facet of Angkor unlike many historical sites is that it is a hive of activity as there are dozens of farming communities dotted around this area, a chance to see ordinary Cambodian people going about their everyday life. This is a chance to se rural Cambodian life amongst a rich history.

RIDING PROFILE
We ride approximately 135 km on roads that are tarmac or broken tarmac. There are no real technical sections and this trip can be completed by most people.

ITINERARY
Day 1 Siem Reap 30 km [L]
Pick up from hotel or meet up at our bike depot for bike fitting and safety briefing. We then ride to the Angkor Temple complex before starting the Grand Circuit which includes Angkor Thom, the South Gate, the Bayon, Baphoun, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. After a picnic lunch continue to cycle to Banteay Kdei, Ta Prohm, Ta Keo and back to Siem Reap. We do stop at each major temple area and you will have plenty of time to explore and take pictures as your temple guide will inform you about all the history of this magnificent area. At sunset we return to the temples by car for a sunset view from Phnom Bakheng. Lunch at Angkor Café.

Day 2 Siem Reap 51 km [L]
Leaving Siem Reap by bike after breakfast we enter the temple complex by an alternative route and much quieter gate. We then ride through the complex taking some smaller roads. Once we leave the main complex we enter into the countryside and we turn off the main tourist road to Banteay Srei. We will pass many local villages and schools and people going about their day to day business and getting a really good feel for life in Cambodia. On the way we have a chance to visit Banteay Samre often missed but well worth a visit. This is one of the best rides on the tour. We stop at Banteay Srei for a well earned rest before continuing on to Kbal Spean (River of 1,000 Lingas) and lunch at Sovann Kbal Spean restaurant. After lunch hiking to the top to view the riverbed carvings, we hike back to the start point and transfer by bus back to Siem Reap.

Day 3 Siem Reap 45 km [B, L]
Ride to Tonle Sap Lake. Take short cruise through floating villages. Lunch at floating village. On the return ride, stop at workshops of Artisans d’Angkor (wood and stone carving). AND/OR visit Landmine Museum of Mr. Aki Ra. Return to your hotel or transfer to the airport for the end of the tour. N.B If water to low for the floating village – we will visit the Roulos Group Of Temples. Lunch at Café Indochine.
